Located on the California coast, between Los Angeles and San Francisco, is the Monterey Bay. Without a doubt, one of Northern California's most beautiful, fun and fascinating destinations. It's a natural showcase of breathtaking seascapes, amusing sea otters, sculptured cypress trees, sandy white beaches and amazing sunsets. We have four airports to fly into - big or little, controlled or uncontrolled. The choice is yours. Watsonville
(WVI) Municipal is an uncontrolled
airport with two runways, 3999' and 4501'. There are three instrument
approaches available - LOC, VOR-DME and NDB or GPS-B. Zuniga's
Restaurant (Mexican) is located on the field and av gas is available.
This is the home of the Watsonville
Airshow that takes place on Labor
Day week-end. Marina (OAR) is an uncontrolled airport with one runway 2999' in length. Salinas (SNS) Municipal
is a controlled airport located in the Salinas Valley with an
elevation of 84' MSL. There are three instrument approaches available
- ILS, LOC DME and VOR or GPS and four runways ranging from 1056'
to 5005'. Av gas is available. The California International Airshow
that takes place in October. The Landing Zone restaurant is located in the terminal building. Featuring steaks, seafood, pastas. Hours of operation: 11 am to 7 pm. Great luncheon buffet featuring hot dishes and salads. Monterey (MRY)
Peninsula is the primary airport
of the Class C airspace. There are two parallel runways of 3502'
and 7599' in length at this controlled airport. There are three
instrument approaches available - ILS, LOC-DME and NDB and avgas
is available on the field. The Golden Tee Restaurant is in the
terminal building right on the field. |
